Wordless(ish) Wednesday - Grocery Shopping

GroceryLow
Yes, that does say 39.  And yes, you can see the reflection of me taking the picture.  :)
I’m not sure why grocery shopping so often makes me low.  Hanging in the parking lot with a trunk full of perishables while waiting for the glucose tabs to kick in sure isn’t fun.  However, it did help me understand how the chocolate donuts and box of key lime cookies found their way into my cart next to the asparagus and oranges and Greek yogurt.

  1. Often I find myself low after grocery shopping, too, but since I don't drive I usually just sweat profusely until I get home. (I'm T2 and don't get dangerously low just aggravatingly low).

  2. Karen, you are not alone!! David jokes with me because going low at the supermarket is such a regular occurrence. I think it may have something to do with the laps around the store. It really sucks when you have perishables and its a warm day:( Hope we can figure out a way to combat this, it gets old very quickly.

  4. Kudos to you for sticking to glucose tabs. If that were me, I'd probably have had to go back into the grocery store to replace all the stuff I'd eaten in the car.

  5. While grocery shopping, does looking at all the food we should avoid make us low? Seems to me that would make us at least think about highs. I sure don't get enough exercise at a grocery store to make me go low. I used to have lows while grocery shopping, but I do not know why. We always shop after lunch, and I take one less unit of my bolus before lunch to compensate. It has worked very well for the last several months.
