It happens to us all . . . .

You know what I"m talking about.  When you go to test your blood sugar.  And you press the button to trigger your lancet.  And squeeze your finger.  And nothing . . .   No blood comes out.

So, you curse under your breath.  (You do, don't you?)  And you choose another spot on your finger.  And you press the button to trigger your lancet.  And squeeze your finger.  And TWO blobs of blood come out!!!

So, you grab a little shard of tissue and make it into a smiley face.  And you take a picture of your finger for your blog.

What, you don't do that last part? No smiley face for your blog? That's just me?? And now you think I'm more than a little crazy???

  5. That is really funny! It always bugs me when this happens as I am trying to get some blood for my son's finger check... Maybe next time we will make ours into a smiley face!

  7. This happens more times than I care to admit... Yet, the smiley faces SO HELP (particularly when I've tried to use the little blood on a strip but it gives me an "Error" messsage... GRRR!) Thanks for the smiles, in real life and on the virtual bloodless fingers!

  8. ha ha ha! That's awesome. Yes, I HATE having to poke my daughter's finger more than once, but I think a smiley face could make things a little better!

  11. Awesome! I'll have to do that next time. Now you need to do a post about how you poke your finger. Squeeze. No blood. Poke again. Squeeze your finger and the blood squirts all over the room! That's always my favorite. It makes me smile no matter what the reading is.

  12. I've never had that happen! I'll keep some tissue handy, just in case it does!

  15. Bahahahahaa! Awesome! Made me laugh :D

FYI: if you're ever out and about and break/forget your lancing device, try squeezing all your fingers - you might just get enough to do a test! It's worked for me! :P

  16. That's definitely happened to me. But what I think is even WEIRDER is when I prick myself ONCE and get TWO drops of blood?!?! WTF is that about? And it will even happen when I haven't tested for a while so I know it's not a fresh hole or anything.

This has gotta happen to other folks too! It can't just be me?
