Off schedule

It seems I'm running a bit behind these days. My brother is here from Colorado for the first time in a few years. Pea is officially on vacation this week. And it's time for some fun. I had hoped to pre-write a few posts to keep things rolling on the blog while I'm off "playing" - but I seem to have run out of time.

I hate when my schedule is off. I love having a routine and sticking to it. I know this is going to be a very fun week, but vacations are always hard too. Different routines. Different exercise. Different food. And now, trying to navigate through it all with my pump.

I think I'll be okay though. The pump is different, and I'm still adjusting, but it's already made things much MUCH easier. And my vacation reading? Pumping Insulin.

What, other people prefer "fluff" books when they are on vacation? Oh well, once a geek, always a geek!!

Enjoy your week and I'll see you after my vacation!

  1. Happy Vacationing to ya!!!
Enjoy the book. Let me know what you think and if it is helpful.

And let me tell you, the Main thing I looked forward to when I started the pump was NO routine or schedule!! Ha ha. Sleeping in was Finally a luxury I could afford to do!

Although after 20 years of such a tight schedule my body got used to it. I still argue with my Endo about it, if I should go back to a schedule and a certain amount of "exchanges" (remember those days? lol) to fins some sort of balance and certainty. He says that is the whole point of the pump....freedom from a rigid schedule.

Yeah well maybe I should try to go back anyways.

Have fun and enjoy! You will be fine and do great!

  2. Happy vacation to you! I hope you can enjoy the flexibility the pump provides this week.

My pump has certainly been helpful to me when I am in different time zones. Things were really bad w/ MDI when I traveled to different time zones.

Although I despise the intense amount of packing you have to do to travel w/ a pump. That is the part I stress most about!
